Questioni have a stud that has a bad attitude. he bits me and when he gets near a mare he tries to kick me away from her. i need help i am trying to train him for a playday a rodeo for people who don't have to pay a lot of money for the prize. please somebody help me.
AnswerYou are right Ingred, you do need help, but not what I can give you in an email. A stud does not have a bad attitude, he is a stud horse acting like a stud horse. In the wild he is king, it takes very good handling and some horse knowledge to handle a stud. You are going to get hurt if you don't get someone who understand horses to handle this guy. Why do have a stud? Why don't you geld him? Some cowboy is going to tell you to get a stud chain or tell you to beat him, that is wrong. If you don't understand why this horse is doing what he is doing, then you really should not have a stud. He is going to hurt someone or you and then everyone will be blaming him for being a bad horse, just like you are blaming him for having a bad attitude. This horse is just a stud acting like a stud.
You are in a dangerous situation, so I would really urge you to geld this guy and save both of you a lot of grief.
