Is he really gelded?

Question
Im working with a horse, and he is five yrs old. I have a knack with "promblem horses", but this one's got me stumped. Im really not sure what to tell his owner other than he might've not got cut correctly. Is there any way for me to check before racking up a vet bill? He has got a mare in heat this morning and he was hanging pretty stiff, and all strecthed out biting her neck.

Answer
Hello Jason,
Funny you should send me this question because my gelding is the same, he has even mounted mares when turned out with them. I had the vet out to make sure the gelding went well because he was a cryptorchid so I thought perhaps something could have been missed. Everything came back clean so then I was prepared to move forward working on his behavior. I would have the vet test just to make sure its not physical, I don't remember it being very expensive. Then if it comes back that he's gelded  work with him the same way you would work with a stallion and he'll be just fine.
Let me know if you have any other questions about him.
Best Wishes,
