Question
Hello Rick,  I'm curious about the way stallions and geldings relieve themselves.   I have noticed how they will get in that rather spectacular position of theirs,  and
then they will hesitate a few seconds, and then shift their stance slightly just before letting go of their stream.  Why is do they get in  position, then wait, then move again and finally let open the sphincter?   Please forgive me if my question offends you.    Thanks!  Be  well.

Answer
Hey Ken, they get into that stance, legs spread, tail up so they don't urinate on themselves.  Horse do not step in their poop or urine in the wild.  They also do this to get good aim, so they can mark a mares pile or to go over another Stallion's urine.

Hope this answers your questions.

Rick

Not sure about your questions.  I think a horse stalls so they will swing their urine and if is hard to go when moving.  Still unclear what you are asking for, sorry.
