Question
i was wondering if you could tell me what a wide web horseshoe is, a bar shoe, and what a chadwick spring is.  thanks

Answer
HELLO VANESSA...Thanks for your question.

A "wide-web" shoe is basically any shoe mass produced or
handmade that is more than 1/2 inch wide. Most factory made
shoes are 1/2--5/8th in width depending on the manufacturer
or country they're made in. Shoes that are 3/4 wide give alittle more wall support.

A "bar-shoe" is for therapeutic reasons. It's a shoe that is
connected in the back/rear/palmar area. You have straight bars, egg bars, heart bars, memphis bars,Z-bars and etc. They either support the tendons and ligaments, hoof capsule itself, navicular, coffin bone and the like.

A "chadwick-spring" was once popular years ago, is seldom used anymore. Gaited horses...T.W.H.,Saddlebreds and the like, were thought to help in "expanding" the bars and heels of a horse. Looking like a "pyramid" with a spring in the middle and (2) fish hook like barbs on it's end, was placed in/on the frog and the ends were allowed to penetrate the bars of the hoof to put pressure and force the heels to expand. A pad was placed to cover it and keep it in place.
For alot of horses it "did-not" work or caused pain in that area of the hoof.

Hope I covered your question well!!
Thanks Again...
