I don't know what species you got, but usually - if the bottom shell is convex (protrudes out), it's probably a female. If it's concave (caves in), then it's most likely a male. Good to know is also, that the male usually has a bigger and thicker tail than the females.
However, it can be really hard to tell the gender of a turtle when it's young (Especially for the red eared sliders). Therefor, I recommend the site below:
