My baby horsefield tortoise

I have had a babt horseefield tortoise for 2 weeks now and have a few questions.
1. Im not sure how old he is, he is smaller than the palm of my hand??? ( Ihave quite small hands!!)
2. I have noticed that he has one runny eye that is slightly puffy qnd he rubs it - do i need to take him to the vets. Hes also been sleeping al;ot and not eating a great deal.
3. Is it worth getting him insured, just to cover vet bills?

1. Age is tough to determine accurately from size alone, but I'd guess 1-2 years old.

2. Puffy eyes can be Respiratory Infections, but it can also be things like the stress of a big change, low humidity (young tortoises like high-humidity hides), wrong temps, etc.

3. Vet insurance is usually not worth it, but that is entirely your call. I am not a vet, and I have not needed one for my tortoises so I have no experience in it.
