Turtle Safe Plants

22 16:20:22

Question
I wanted to put some live plants in my Chinese Box turtle's tank that could be used for shade and possibly supplemental food. Any recommendations? Also, is there any precautions I should know about in introducing them into his tank?

Answer
In the water part, you can plant most common aquarium plants- although that will make cleaning tougher. Duckweed is probably the easiest overall.

Shade in the dry area can be pretty much any human-safe plant. Ferns are a good example.
