New soon-to-be RES owner

Hello, I'm 14 years old and am intrested in owning a red eared slider. But
I'm on a tight budget and is planning on getting one from petsmart a little
after Christmas. But my question is what are the essentials that the turtles
need to have. I have a 10 gallon tank (I know that's not enough) but Im
planning on getting a bigger one later. I've reaserched alot about there
statistics/needs/must have's. And how often would you feed them there
regular turtle died that you would buy? I'm trying to make the best out of
its life, this will be my first turtle.

Hello please contact a local rescue. We are all sooo full of res and need homes but there are really no  one wanting to adopt. Yes you can even get baby ones too.

I feed my small turtles daily, the larger everyother day.
I rotate between commercial turtle foods greens and flowers etc also allowing grazing time in the yard.

please howver check with a rescue If you can not find one let me knwo and Ill happily put you in touch with one. Neat thing is in some rescues we get tanks and set ups dontaed and like myself I dont use them. therefor I give them to someone in need. your local herp rescue may do the same.
