Question
Hi I purchased a month and a half old male veiled Chameleon about 5 days ago and for the past 3 days hes had his eyes closed causing him not to eat. Ive looked online and found many answers of him being dehydrated or not having the right temp or humidity in his cage. But theres never an answer of how to fix the problem. What should i feed him in the mean time he gets better? And how?

Answer
Hello Rosio,

Do you have any pictures of your male chameleon?
What type & brand of UVB are you using, a fluorescent tube bulb or a compact/coil light?
Are you using a digital probe or temp gun to measure the temperatures?
What type of foods are you offering for him?

He needs a basking spot of around 95 or so, with humidity levels around 70% roughly.  The basking light needs to be a bright white light that is not coated with neodymium.
The best UVB lights are either the Reptisun 10 tube bulb or the Arcadia D3 12%.  You can get them from  www.lightyourreptiles.com

If he is not eating right now, you can get some chicken or turkey baby food & feed to him with either a plastic syringe or dropper to try & get him to eat.  Be sure to include calcium several times per week also.

Let me know what his lighting is & the temperatures are.
Thanks.
