QuestionHow long should I wait to put a juvenile leopard gecko into a full grown leopard geckos cage? How long does it take them to have their first set of eggs after you introduce them?
Thank you so much
AnswerHi Beatrice
You should not put 2 leopard Geckos together to breed until they are around a year old and at least 50 to 60 grams in weight
This is especially important for the female as she has less chance of having complications with forming and laying eggs
A male should also be allowed to grow/develop to his full potential size before they are bred even though both sexes are actually sexually mature much earlier than those weights and age
A female will usually lay around one month after being mated with a male-it can be earlier-it can take longer but the average is around a month
When the female lays the first set of eggs she usually already has egg follicles in her right behind the set of eggs to be laid
Those follicles will develop into her next set of eggs
Hope that this helps
