Feisty Baby Leopard Gecko

Question
I have a friend whose Leopard Geckos had babies and one was given to me.  She is very feisty!  I don't even have to stick my hand in the cage and she stands up tall on all fours, hisses, and lunges at me like she thinks she can get through the glass.  I really think she's trying to attack me!  She's a tiny baby and I read somewhere that it's normal for babies to be a little bit more aggressive but can I hope for it getting better?  I've never had a Leopard Gecko before so I could trade her for a another one of the babies and leave her to someone with more experience.

What would be the best plan?

Answer
Hello Amanda,

Wow she is that aggressive for being so young?  Actually they should not be that aggressive.  I hope that she was not dropped or spooked previously which is a possibility.
What type of setup do you have, perhaps she is not feeling well?  Is she warm enough?
However, one thing with behavior like that you have to stand your ground.  Though she is trying to attack, let her know that she doesn't scare you & go pick her up anyway.  As soon as she realize that you will not hurt her, she will most likely calm down.
Try getting some fruit babyfood like mango, papaya, or applesauce, just something sweet to put on your finger to see if you can dab some on her nose for her to lick off.  That might help to tame her down.
