Question
QUESTION: My leopard gecko has skin on the top of his head I've been putting warm water on moss in a container inside his cage but its been a week and im really scared.I thought about taking off the skin on his head myself but he hates being touched on his head. The skin is really tight on his eyes and its hard for him... he has to squint. The skin is attached to his stomach and he's only like 5-6 months so its sensitive there. Please tell me what to do im scared for my small Leo.

ANSWER:   If he has a problem with shed retention, then increase the mistings, you may need to take him to the vet to help, not necessarily with the body shed, but with the shed on his delicate toes. Once the body shed is well moistened, you can try to assist in removing body shed.

QUESTION: It's on his head not toes and he prefers not being handled so i don't think he wants me touching him but i think it might be the humidity its 80 all day is that right? My heater pad is on the side because i didn't know where to put it but ppl say not to remove it so its in the wrong place and his skin is very tight around his eyes what do YOU recommend is best?

Answer
First, all heat and light should come from above.  There are ceramic heat emitters and rheostats available.  Retained shed constricts circulation and even though you may not see it, it also may be happening to his delicate toes as well.  If he was my leo, I would take him to a reptile vet who can diagnose why he is retaining  shed this bad.  Retained shed can make a lizard grumpy, but it must come off and he should eat it like a proper leo.  Perhaps adding a paving stone that he can rub against will help start the process.
