Worm Testing

Question
Hey, I dunno if you know anything in the subject of aquatic turtles, specifically my red eared slider, but everyone else was maxed out or on vacation. I just am wondering what the average cost of worm testing stool samples would be. In a book it said that if a turtle has worm he/she will have no symptoms until its serious. My adult turtle just died, and my friend gave me a new baby, and I would just feel horrible if I lost another. When I owned my adult one, I had read a few things on them, but I've grown so attached to my baby that I'm worried about alot of things, so if the test is too expensive I'll have to skip it and hope for the best. Also, is there such thing as an at-home testing kit? Sorry if I asked questions that you cannot answer. Thanks again!

Answer
Hello Crissy,

On average, a fecal test usually runs around $20 maybe $25 but you also have to pay for a vets visit too.
There is an at-home testing kit, yes, so here is the hyperlink so you can purchase it if you would like to.  I recommend buying the parasite identification chart, as well since you are just starting out & need to learn what the different things are.
You could go ahead & buy the Panacur also.
It is true, that alot of times, if the levels of a worm or parasite are low they usually do not cause health problems most of the time.  It's not until they get too high in numbers is when they begin to start causing health problems.
