i was wondering if i could use a heat rock or a ceramic heat lamp to heat up my king snake. thanks

Hello Brenden,

A heat rock is totally out of the question it will burn your king snake terribly.  
A ceramic heat lamp is normally used.  You will need to make sure & have a cage or protector around the heater or out of reach for your snake, so he doesn't coil around the heater.
An undertank heater is a good heating source for them, as well.  The combination of an undertank heater & a low wattage ceramic heat emitter is good.
