QuestionJust bought black netherland dwarf rabbit (3 weeks ago). Snickers is approx. 10 wks. old and is alert, active and eating and drinking normally.
Today I noticed she has developed a "loose stool". I lost her mate within a couple of days to this and am quite concerned that she not become ill.
Should I return her to timothy hay; rabbit pellets and water only and remove the corn, alfalfa & carrot sticks?
Thank you for your help.
AnswerYes, remove the vegetables. The alfalfa hay is fine, as is the timothy, but she's a little bit young yet for vegetables.
You can find good diet info at http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/diet.html which also has links to good veggies for rabbits.
Diarrhea is common when rabbits get too many veggies too early, once you remove them this should go away.
