QuestionWe have recently acquired an albino rabbit from our local farm. He is eating well etc and seems quite happy in his surroundings. However, when I loked in on him this afteroon after leaving him this morning, I noticed that he seems to have a bit of a watery eye and it seems to be closing slightly. The fur seems a little wet around the upper inside of his eye but he is showing no signs of distress. Could he have got a little cold in it? Can you suggest anything other than the vets?
AnswerOne of the most common causes of watery eyes is a blocked or irritated tear duct. You can use eye ointment and drops to help try to flush out the blockage or irritation. However, if it is a bad case (or if it is too blocked), a vet will be necessary to correct the problem.
