Question
My five year old bunny, Sox has been licking his dewlap ( fur under the chin) today when I got up close and personal, I noticed he has a wound.  It is all red and crusty.  I am taking him to the doctor's tomorrow, but do you know what this is and how I can treat it.  I am worried about him.  I gave him a good brushing and noticed no other spots.  His good buddy Mac has no signs of this.

Answer
There is a condition of the dewlap, although i cannot remember the name. It can be treated with an antibiotic shot or cream that your vet can supply you with. It is nothing serious though. He will be just fine, if you get him the treatment he needs. Maybe he got it just wet and it didn't dry quick enough and it rubbed a sore on it where his head touches it, or even not enough moisture and it is dry skin.
If your bunny is drinking from a bowl, then you may also want to change that to a water bottle. This may help.
