Question
Last night my rabbit had 6 babies and they are all alive and the same size but one looks like it has been fed and the others still have wrinkled skin and their bellies are small. What should i do to feed them?everytime i touch them they wriggle around. what should i do?? i dont want any of them to suffer from not eating, please help thanks.love amber

Answer
Hi. It depends on which order she had them in the others may have just not had the chance to nurse yet. Give them a day or two before you try to nurse them. Mom will only nurse them 2-3 times a day. The babies always squirm when you touch them because they are not sure it isn't mom, and they are trying to eat before she leaves again. If she is still not feeding them after 2 days, then go to www.islandgems.net. On the breeding page, click on hand feeding orphans. This is a rabbit website, and it tells you which formulas to feed and stuff.
