Male Rabbits Fighting

Question
Hi! I brought 2 male rabbits (babies) and had them together in the same hutch; they were fine for months, however, about 2 months ago we noticed that one of them was in serious trouble (it had had his 'bits' riped off) and nearly died - thankfully the vet saved him! Since then we have had them both neutered but have still not been able to put them back together without the other one mounting the 'no man bits' one - is there anything I can do to stop this?  I really want them to live together.

Answer
Hi Karen,
Unfortunately, males do not live well together, even neutered.  The shop shouldn't have sold you two males together, they become very territorial at maturity and can fight to the point of death.  I'm sorry to tell you this.
The only thing you can do is seperate them in different cages beside eachother.  Females are great together...or a neutered male and female.  But two males absolutely doesn't work, or is extremely rare. You may want to sell a male to a good home and get yourself a female if you want two living happily together.  That's up to you...I wish you all the best, Elizabeth
