Question
how many times a day can i give my rabbit freckles romaine lettuce and also a slice of apple? she loves them alot but i dont want to give her more then she should have in one day.

Answer
At this age, she should only get very small amounts of fresh food. Half a slice of apple and a leaf of romain lettuce is plenty. In about a month, you can start slowly increasing the amounts of fresh foods. By 5 months of age, she can have a nearly all fresh food diet, as long as it is well balanced. All rabbits should also have all the fresh timothy, grass, and/or oat hay they want. Below is a feeding guide for fresh foods:

Remember to feed fresh foods in moderation until you are sure the rabbit can handle them, at which point fresh foods can become a decent part of the daily diet. Also keep in mind that fruit is actually quite high in sugar, which is converted into calories. If those calories are not burned off, they turn into fat. Be sure to wash all fresh foods thoroughly, and if they are gathered in the wild, avoid gathering in areas that have been sprayed for weeds/insects or that are near high volumes of traffic.
