Question
My new Zealand white had 13 babies and I am worried that she will not be able to care and feed them all. She and the babies are in my home so i am watching over them carefully.I do not raise these guys for meat but as part of my family so i am hoping to have them all survive. Is there anything I have to do to help her along in taking care of all these babies. I have never had a litter this big! Please let me know!!!

Answer
You are correct. Likely she will not be able to take care of them all. Usually with litters this big, there are a few runts that never make it. Sorry to say but that's nature. This is why they produce such large litters. It is all about survival. Makeing sure she has lots and lots of fresh water daily, along with free fed pellets and hay will help her with her litter.
