Question
My aunt and uncle dogs caught a 4 day old baby bunny and so they thought it was dead. So they put it in the garden thinking it was dead. My family came over two days later and the baby bunnie was still alive. My family looked all over and could not find the nest. It was sitting in the sun with no food or water in 93 degree weather for two days. We took it home and now he is sitting in a easter basket full of grass we feed him milk/water mixed in a siringe to feed it wrapped in a washcloth. Its eyes arnt even opened yet but hes made it through the night. (How do we feed it?, how often do we feed it?, what should i put in the basket?, and what to feed it?)

Thanks alot!

Answer
Hi,

you can feed him kitten milk replacement (from pet supply store).  Instead of making it up with water make it up with whole milk.  Rabbit milk is very rich.  Use a plastic dropper and feed slowly.  You can feed 1-2 droppers every 4-6 hours.  If he doesn't want it you'll probably see him not want to eat.  Keep him warm, no direct breezes.  After two weeks you can put fresh grass hay in with him to see if he'll nibble.  Don't give anything else.  And you may want to consider finding a wild animal rehab center around you that would take him and raise him so that he'll be able to go back into the wild okay.  If not, after 1 month he should pretty much be weaned off milk and eating grass hay/grasses.  For his safety you'll want to have him in a cage so that he doesn't wander off and get into danger around the house.  There are too many things they will nip or crawl into that can be dangerous.  You can keep using the easter basket inside the cage, it's a space he's used to, just not without something around it, holding him in for his own safety.  He will start to explore pretty soon.
