Bladder

Hello. My bunny has just become paralyzed in the hind legs from an accident. The vet showed me how to express his bladder, but i want to make sure i am doing it correctly. Can you give me advice on how to do this? Which side of the Bunny is his liver on? Iv'e been doing the right side, is that correct?

Hold the rabbit upright and vertically (kind of like they are standing), find the bladder, which will be hard and full, and press gently on it.  I was hoping to find you pictures, but I can't locate any.  If the urine is coming out when you do this, you are doing it correctly.  "Gently" is the key word here.

I believe the rabbit's liver is on the right side, in about the same location as a human's.
