GI stasis & home care - please help

Question
Hi,
I am beyond thrilled to find a bunny health expert online!!!!  I have several interrelated questions re: my approx 10 year old (I've had him 9 years, and he was rescued as an adult) neutered dwarf mix bunny Oscar - we lost his mate Juliet to a heart attack when I was taking her to the vet for a follow up appt, about 3 weeks ago.  The vet said it was probably due to anxiety/an adrenaline rush due to the stress of transporting...  I let Oscar spend time with her body after I brought her home from the vet.  I've been giving him lots of extra attention, but Oscar tolerates humans whereas he adored Juliet, so I'm a poor substitute.  He had a bout of GI stasis years back which I nursed him through under a vet's direction and care, and now it is starting to reoccur, I think due to the stress of losing her.  He had cecal stuck to his bottom yesterday and had been gradually eating and drinking less and not pooping much.  He's ornery and extremely skittish on a good day (hence his namesake, Oscar the Grouch - but he stopped biting long ago once he realized he was safe, and sometimes I think his growls and thumps are almost affectionate... he was rescued from a bad situation, so he's entitled to his angst).  I'm totally terrified to stress him further with a trip to the vet, given how I lost Juliet.  I'm doing the things that the vet said to do, that helped the last time several years ago...  He's eating less, but still eating timothy hay and greens (I'm making them extra wet), but not drinking much water, so I've been giving him pedialyte with a syringe.  I took his pellets away like the vet told me to last time.  I found an online rabbit dosing calculator, but I'm too anxious and flummoxed and it's confusing to me...  I've read online about anti-gas and probiotic pastes helping -  didn't use those last time, actually used plain yogurt per the vet, which I've now read is bad due to sugar.  The vet also had me give him pineapple juice before, for the enzymes in case there was any blockage...  The vet said he can't treat or advise without me bringing Oscar in - I certainly understand that, I just can't bring myself to inflict the trip on Oscar, especially given I have some ways to help him at home...

Hence my questions for you...
Here are my dosing questions, given a rabbit weighing 2.5 pounds:
1) How much Pedialyte would be appropriate with a syringe, and how often a day?
2) how much subcu fluids, and how often?  (my brother's girlfriend is a vet tech and willing to administer)
3) How much pediatric simethicone?  (Do you think that this would be helpful during a GI stasis episode?)
4) How much Benebac?  (Do you think this is helpful?)
Misc questions -
5) Are carrots and apples (Oscar's absolute favorites) okay for him to have?  I've read they're not because of sugars or something...
6)Should I do the pineapple juice and yogurt again?

Also, let me know anything else at all you can suggest that I could do at home for him...  I've promised him we're going to adopt an older spayed female bun as a new friend for him, once we get through this....  Thanks for any help you can offer us, and sorry for the zillion and one questions....

Janet (& Oscar)

Answer
Dear Janet,

I just found your message that you lost Oscar.  I cannot tell you how sorry I am.  It sounds as if you were trying everything possible.  Sometimes there is just more going wrong than we mortals can control.

Oscar will always live in your heart.  I am sending many healing thoughts to you.

Take care,

Dana
