Question
my sister has just bought a dwarf rabbit from a questionable store, when she bought it she noticed a bald spot on the rabbit that was scaly but she dismissed it. it has been a week since she first bought the rabbit and the bald spot has started to turn blue, should we be concerned about this?

Answer
Dear Matt,

When a bald spot starts to grow fur, the skin will often darken as the hair shafts underneath become visible.  Keep an eye on it for any sign of flaking or irritation, but this is probably just the new fur coming in, especially if the bunny is a dark color.

If you're worried that this might be a skin problem, please see:

and find a good vet here:

Good luck,
