Rabbits pulling their partners hair out.

Question
I have two rabbits, one male and one female, they have been living together for a year and they definitely love each other and do not have fights. The male rabbit has been pulling the hair out the female's hair on her face. He is neutered and she isn't spayed. We separted for two weeks and they were very unhappy. She isn't putting up a fight when he pulls her hair out. And it doesn't look like it hurting her. Thank you and please help us.

Answer
Hi Lina

It sounds very much your boy is bored.

What he is doing is part of the grooming and bonding process only he's taking it too far and over grooming.

Maybe provide him with more toys, try some new ones, cardboard tubes, boxes etc are all good fun for your bunnies.

Just keep an eye out that he's not making the area sore or inflamed on your girl.

With more toys and things to keep him occupied he should stop.

Hope this helps, let me know how you get on
