Whisker/face biting?

Question
Hi
I am bonding my 2 yr old (neutered) buck with my 15 week old doe.  All is going well but I have recently observed her biting his whiskers, or the fur surrounding them.  I haven't observed any other aggresive behaviour.  Please could you tell me what this whisker/fur biting means?

Many thanks for you time

Answer
Dear Samantha,

It sounds as if she's just giving him an affectionate over-grooming, which isn't a sign of aggression.  It's a bit of a neurotic behavior, which could mean she's a little nervous about the whole thing.  But once she's older (and spayed), she'll be calmer.

I'm guessing the overgrooming will subside once the two bunnies are comfortable with each other, but if not, you might seek some additional advice from the folks at behavior@rabbit.org

Hope this helps.
