Question
Pretty much all i want to know is what type of shots are needed for a lionhead rabbit? Do I have to worry about it or should I just let the vet take care of these things?

Answer
Dear Dane,

Well, it's always good to do your homework and learn about proper care of an animal *before* you bring one home, but I'm glad you're doing the research now.  :)

If you are in the UK or Europe, it is highly recommended that your rabbit be vaccinated against myxomatosis and Viral Hemorrhagic Disease, which are deadly and untreatable once a rabbit has them.  They are quite prevalent in the UK and Europe, so do not fail to get the shots if you are in those places.

If you're in the U.S., then no vaccines are required or even approved for rabbits.  That doesn't mean your bunny won't need regular veterinary care, and you will need a vet who is experienced with *rabbits* and their unique medical issues.  You can find one here:

www.rabbit.org/vets

Finally, all you need to know about the proper care and feeding of your new pal so that he'll have many happy years with you can be found here:

I hope that helps!
