Question
Hi Andrea
I have had my bunny (girl) for 2weeks tomorrow (17/11/07). which makes her
8weeks old. Me & my family are moving houses in about 8-10 weeks & i was
wandering will this trigger any unusual behaviuor in her, or will it up set her in
anyway. If Yes how could i stop it or help her through the change.
Thanks Liz

Answer
The move could trigger some changes.  Rabbits are individuals just like people.  Some rabbits handle moves perfectly fine.  Others may get stressed by the move.

It may help if you can either move the rabbit first or move your rabbit last.  This would allow you to isolate your bun from the noise and hustle and bustle of the move.  If you move the rabbit first, you can find a rabbit a quiet place away from the noise while everything gets settled in.

If your bun does gets stressed by the move, you may notice more thumping because the house may sound different to your bun.  Or if your bunny gets stressed, it may stop eating and possibly show signs of digestive problems.  Be on the look out for poop changes in size and consistency and if your bun eats and drinks less.

When you do get moved in, you want to limit how much of the new house your bunny explores.  Just to give your bun time to adjust to the new surroundings.

Try to keep your rabbit's routine as normal as possible and keep loving on your bun.

Hopefully, the move will be handled fine.
