Question
Hi! I'm glad I found you.  We purchases a Holland lop bunny one week ago. She (I think it's a she) is approx 2mths old and adorable

She's quite nervous. Is this normal. We try to be calm with her, not too much handling, let her out for exercise in the family room and outside on a leash

I'm concerned b/c she ate some bits from a plant, finds wires also. Don't want her to harm herself.  Any suggestions?

She sleeps on her little litter box in her cage and hasn't seemed to find a system for toileting.  We leave her cage open so she can get back in to poo and pee but she's starting to drop all over the place. What should we do?

I really appreciate your time if you can help answer all these questions

Thanks again,
Linda

Answer
Hi,

Yes it is normal that she will be shy for the first few months.  For the litter box you should start  off in a small area to get her used to it and praise her with treats when she uses it.  One thing that workes well for chewing is coating the wires with hot sauce and making sure that the rabbit knows that the hot sace is there by showing it to her.  This will deffinitly stop the chewing.  I hope I could help!
