Netherland Dwarf Birth

Question
HI, I have a netherland dwarf doe who kindled a litter on friday. I checked the
nest and found three healthy kits. I have been checking the nest daily to
ensure none have wriggled out and that they are being fed. I checked the nest
yesterday and to my surprise I found a dead kit, it wasn't in the nest it was
outside, and was a max factor kit. It looked like it's neck was broken, and its
spine. When we took it out it looked lie it had skin missing from one side of
it. I then checked the rest of the kits to make sure they were ok, and to my
surprise there were three healthy kits still there!! I have no idea where this
extra kit has come from, as there were definately only three kits when I first
checked!! Do you have any idea where this extra kit could have come from??
Thanks Natasha

Answer
hi she could have dragged it out the nest after feeding.if they do get dragged out the doe will not put it back -this is common knowledge you have to put them back yourself -this is why i check every night when i have babys to make sure none have been dragged out the nest.
