Rabbit Labor

Question
When we went out to check our female bunny yesterday morning (6/8), we found fur all over inside her hutch and she was in the back of the hutch. Underneath the cage where she was sitting were a few drops of blood. I could tell by her spasms that she was in labor. We watched her from a distance all day. I offered her food, which she did not eat. I made sure she had plenty of fresh cold water. Around 3:00, she came to the front of the cage and ate a lot. She didn't have her babies before we went to bed. We fully anticipated finding new babies this morning. When my husband got up this morning, he checked her nesting box and still no babies. She's still spotting and having spasms. We're getting worried. How long can this take? Should we take her to the vet?

Answer
Hello Rose !
Well it sounds like your rabbit is in the eairly stages of labor. I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond. she should have had them by now if she made a nest and started to bleed. you may need to feel around in the nest the babies are small and may be deep in the nest.
Good luck1 keep my updated!
