Question
I need to know what to do aobut my Pet Rabbits for this Winter. I live in Kentucky, and i am very concerned about this issue. I don't want them to die. Please help me, and one more thing, i think that the Female is Pregnant, do i need to put something in the Cage for her so when she has the Baby's? Thank you for helping me.

Answer
Hi,

I guess I am not sure what to tell you, as I am an indoor house rabbit advocate.  My solution is to bring them inside.  They will be safe and warm in the house.

Other than that, do you have electric service to where they are outside?  Can you get a small, safe electric heater that can run out there?  There are models that have a thermistat in them that can regulate the temperature at a desired, set level.

for the female, take about a 12x12 inch box, and cut around it so that the sides are a few inches high.  On one of the long sides, cut that only 1 1/2 inches high.  This will be the side mom hops in and out of.  Let mom fill it up with nest material she wants to use.
