Questioncan i produce general anesthesia for rabbit by ketamin and diazepam. with regard
AnswerDear Munaf,
I would not recommend this. Diazepam is only a sedative, and ketamine is not an anesthetic, but a dissociative. The rabbit may be completely "out of it", but will still feel pain. Isoflurane is the safest choice for a rabbit, and the vet will give appropriate pre-medications.
I hope you are not intending to do any veterinary work requiring anesthesia on your own rabbit! I say this because just today we got in a rescue who was apparently the victim of a "home neuter" gone bad. His scrotum had a neat cut in it, the testicle had been pulled out, and then just...left to dry up and rot! He was found dumped on a busy street here in Miami, and it's lucky he was seen and rescued.
He is at this moment being neutered properly by our wonderful veterinarian.
I hope you will not attempt to do any procedures on your rabbit without a veterinarian!
