itchy flaking skin on rabbit

Dear dave, my rabbit beatrix has a skin problem. we think that it is hereditary but dont kow for sure. her skin is very dry on her back and flaky. The furr comes out in these areas only to come back white. i dont think it is mange or mites or flies. We had her taken to the vet and they said it was a skin disorder common to inbred rabbits. We got her from a pet store so we cannot confirm this. The vet had her put o a sterrroid to stop the itch so the fur could grow back but besides that she is ot o any medication. If you could help that would be great,

hi-to me it sounds like skin mites and i would buy some powder from the pet store and rub in.
it could be a result of inbreeding but i'm not convinced this is the cause.
vets are very dear so i would try the powder before i went back to see him
