QuestionI have noticed just now that my rabbit's left eye looks sore, as it has gone red. Also she has been scratching it. So I am a bit worried as I am not so sure what is in her eye, as it could be anything but is there anything I can do to comfort her or preventing it of getting it worse?
I will be keeping a close eye on her as she is my precious.
Thank-you for your time.

AnswerDear Lessie,
Redness of the eye can be caused by dozens of different things, and since you don't mention what *part* of the eye is red (the eyeball itself? the white of the eye? the conjunctiva (pink stuff around) the eye?), I can't say with any conviction what it could be. But I can say that eye injuries are painful, and that they need to be seen and treated by a good vet ASAP, to prevent further damage. Even a little corneal scratch can become worse if not treated, and they are very painful.
You can find a good rabbit vet here:
www.rabbit.org/vets
Please get your bunny there ASAP, and if the vet isn't sure what to do, ask for referral to a good veterinary ophthalmologist. I hope this helps.
