hi i had my 2 rabbits in a 2 teir hutch,1 was a dwarf the other a lop eared been on same diet since i got then at 8wks they now 13 months.i put the rabbits in the run yesterday and noticed my dwarf was covered in urine,i put it down to the lop been clumsy and weeing on him,he seemed fine wen i put him back in the hutch this morning i found him lying on his side(he had passed away)on closer inspection he again was covered in wee 1 eye was open the other closed and it looked like pellets in his mouth as these r what he ate,could it be that the lop had smothered him even tho they wer bought from the same pet shop at the same time/age and having spent their lives together????

Its unlikely that the other rabbit had anything to do with the others death.

Peeing on himself is a sign of infection or stones in the bladder or kidneys or even sometimes kidney failure. You might have noticed that in the past few weeks he was drinking and peeing more?

I think whatever took him whether it was his kidneys or heart failure, it took him quickly and the food in his mouth might have just been a swift passing for him.
