my rabbit: green fur on the bottoms of his feet

Question
my boyfriend and i recently got a 2 month old dwarf rabbit and his fur is all white with a couple grey patches above his tail and on his head. the bottom of his paws recently turned a light green and we are not sure why. first we thought because he sometimes jumps into the water bowl then into his hay but we've since changed him to a bottle and they are still light green... what to you think this is and what can we do?

Answer
Dear Marisa,

It sounds as if his footpad fur is getting a bit stained from whatever he's walking on, which could be newsprint, litter, or even his food.  White fur will often age to a sort of greenish color, and it's really nothing to worry about.

As long as he's eating and drinking and pooping, well, I wouldn't worry about the fur color.  It's normal for the fur on the bottom of the feet to be darker and coarser than the fur on the rest of the body.
