Question
Ok. I did not know there was a resource this fantastic online for pig answers! I have so many! Here is the most pressing. I have a 16 week old female MPB and just this week I have noticed that her poop is connected like a string of pearls. I looked closer and the "chain" that connects is clear. Could this be some type of tape worm? Or maybe just eaten something?

Answer
Welcome to the world of pigs, they will steal your heart! Many times a pig will eat a string, piece of straw or fiber or similar product, and their feces will string together in balls. Don't panic. :) But make sure her next bowel movements are coming out and she is not blocked.
However, your pig should be wormed (and neutered).
A vet can do this for you..... 2 injections of Ivermectin 14 days apart.
Please consider our book at valentinesperformingpigs.com
It was written for the new pig owner and is the most up to date and popular pb pig book. It should guide you through all your pig's life
experiences.
