Question
Do you sell your pigs? If so, what do you charge? How well does a piglet ship? What is the average weight of your pigs?
We are looking into the care of the miniature pig to see if we want to add one or two to our family.  I have heard that pigs need to be paired in at least two, is this true?
Thank you,
Carol

Answer
Hello,

Well...to answer your question about buying piglets in pairs is absolutely not true!
Someone in Britain started that false information to sell more pigs I guess.
Pigs are very herd bound animals.  As soon as they are separated from the others in the litter they become dependent on you.  As long as they have each other they don't want much to do with you.
If you ant two piglets the best thing to do is to buy one and get it well started with litterbox, leash training and handling.  Then add another piglet.
If a piglet has other animals around and lots of time with it's new parents it will be happy and healthy without another piglet.
Thank you,
Patty
