Question
QUESTION: We have a mini pot belly pig that is 4 months old, and she is now starting
to be really aggerasive toward my 10 pound dog. We under stand that she
is just trying to assert her postition to the top but our worry is that she will
really hurt the dog. They are about the same size. When the pig sees the
dog she raises her head and charges the dog and then grabs the dog by
the neck and shakes the dog. We break it up and are now looking for a
solution to our problem. We never leave them together unattended so we
are not sure why the pig has now started doing this.   Also the dog avoids
the pig as best as she can but the pig seems to be searching for the dog.
Any advice would be greatly appericated thanks

QUESTION: Her appointment is in 2 weeks to get spayed.

Answer
Hello,
I think you will notice a change in her aggression issues after she is spayed.
Some females can be aggressive when they come into heat which is every 21 days.
I have had very good luck with my pigs and other animals.  They get along very well from the start.
It may take a month or two after the surgery for all the hormones to settle down but this should solve your problems.
Good luck with her!
