Question
I saved a few day old rat from the neighbors dog in a bunch of pine needles.  He was the last one not to get mangled and survived with only a bloody nose.  Im feeding him with a syringe and rubber tip which seem too big until he opens his mouth.  He has been really stubborn with out his mother and usually will not drink. How much and often should i feed the little guy?  He may only get a drop at the most twice a day down.  He doesnt have his eyes open so i lay dawn put him by my heart and call him by name.  Ive never done this before, never had as much as a dog in my life.

Answer
Well; I commend you for trying to save him, but be aware that orphan babies rarely survive without mama, so please try to keep that in mind -- you are doing all that you can. That being said, here's a fabulous article about raising orphaned babies.

Good luck.
