Female rat tumors and sores

My female rat Lucy Liu is about a year and a half old. She suddenly
Developed 2 , what I think are tumors. One in her chest
Under her neck and the other in her lower belly.
They have been there about 2 months. Today I noticed one
Had an open sore. I put polysporin on it. I haven't
Taken her to the vet because there isn't really anything
They can do for her in my opinion. I have had pets die
Of cancer and my goal is to keep them comfortable as long as possible
I would really like to hear what you think regarding
This sore. Like what is is and a course of action for home care. Thank you

Hi Wendy,
Is it the tumor by her groin that has the open sore? Can you send me a picture? Chances are it is a malignant mammary tumor. This can often be treated with a drug called tamoxifen. She the info on my website at www.ratfanclub.org in the Tumor article and the Tamoxifen article.
