Can Parrots Learn Scripts and Type?

Question
Hi,

I'm currently doing a telemarketing job from home that involves me phoning people up and then recording the info they tell me by typing it into a computer database.  My Parrot (George) can say hello and goodbye, but is it possible to teach him the whole telemarketing script?  Also can Parrots type into computers and read?

I'm hoping George can take over my job so I can just watch TV.  I might get more parrots so I can earn more money, plus Parrots don't have to pay tax.

Thanks for your help,
Ben and George.

Answer
Hi Ben

Well, what kind of parrott are you talking about?  I own an African Grey a Yellow Nape and Umbrella Cockatoo.  Now, having said that, the smartest one for talking is the Grey.  The nape is highly intelligent in riding on my shoulder in my golf cart, festiviles, walking on the streets and riding in the auto.

I do not personally know if one could learn to type, but on T.V. seeing is believing and I have seen birds do unblieveable things.  I do not have patience to teach them, but if u do then go for it for parrotts are highly intelligent, some learn to answer the phone, dial the phone, so if they can do that I would venture to say u can train them to do most anything.

Would that not be incredible if he could do your job? I would love to know if u possess the patience to do this, for it is certainly possible.  Cockatoos learn to ride bikes, skates, play basketball, many things.

Good luck and keep me posted, this is very interesting.  I thought mine were smart with their little quirks, but this would be almost unreal.

Kind Regards
Patt
