Question
The beaks are big and sharp. How do I find a parrot or other intelligent bird that will not or cannot bite so is safe with chldren?

Thank you,

Baldwin Maull

Answer
Hi Baldwin,
well where do I start, there is not one that will not bite.
He could be the best bird in the world ,but something might scary him and he will bite.
I have found that cockitails are the best birds for kids or quarkers are a good bird to have around kids.
large parrots have any where around 800 pounds of pressure to their bite. something to think about.
but you can get a large parrot socialize into the family.
let your kids handle it with you around, the biggest problem with large parrots and kids is the fear or the fast movement,
people make. what age of kids are you talking about?

give it alot of thought first, large parrots live to be 50- 100 years old
smaller birds 10-25 years.
read lots of books
Take care Barbara
