Question
My red lory - age 22 months - was dead in his cage when I went to feed him last night. He had taken one bite of the apple I gave him before going to work. He was stretched out on his back and one wing and the back of his neck looked "scuffed up". My husband thinks the dogs scared him to death. Can that be possible?

Answer
I dont really think so. Its very unlikely unless the bird had heart problems to start with. You dont use non stick tefal pans for cooking do you? Or any aerosols or cleaning products as these are common causes for birds just dropping dead. You could get a post mortem to find a cause. Sorry for your loss
