Question
Hello, I own one cockatiel now(a hen) and would like to get some more and possibly breed but I have several questions first......

My one cocaktiel is pretty quite screeching a few times a day and thats pretty much it, would four cockaitels(two males & two females) be really noisey? could the be compared to the noise three male budiges and a female budgie make?

Would they be quite at night if covered? are the males breeding calls loud and anoying?

Are chicks in the nest loud?

If I were too keep some chicks would a group of say... eight be a whole lot louder then four?

Ok now my hen is a year and a half old.... does it matter how old the male is as long as he is sexualy mature?

Would males and females in the same cage even get along?

Also would a cage 3x3x2 be large eonugh for four?

Thank you for your help in advance,

Answer
I found that cockatiel are one of the quiter birds in our family of birds and we have alot of parrots too.
we always cover our birds no matter what size because they need aless 12 hours of rest all birds.
I would not go to crazy with to many birds, to breeded start small first and see if that is truely what you want to do. you will need a large cage to breed.
they will not be as friendly a pet if you breed them, because they will be more intrest in their new mate.
we have 2 birds in a 3#3#2 which give them lots of room.
think before you jump into anything and do alot of reading.
take care Barbara
