Tail feather and wing feather loss

Question
My budgie is loosing wing and tail feathers quite often! He/she is not one yet(between 5 to 6 months)is this normal? If not what should i do?

Hello, birds will moult every now and then and will grow new feathers. The new feathers are called pin feathers and will look like sharp pointy things. If you can see any of these on you budgie then its likely that he or she is just moulting. However if there aren't any pin feathers it could be that you budgie is plucking its feathers out or else it has an illness thats making the feathers fall out and will need to see a vet.
