Question
Hello,
Thanks for your time in advance. I have a male cockatoo at home and he is not young yet not old. I am thinking of owning 1 or 2 more 3-11 month old cockatoos. Can they be in the same cage? The cockatoo I have at home is aggressive to strangers and can be playful. We have had several birds such as canaries in a separate cage, and the cockatoo seems to be jealous of the attention we are giving to them. I also own a rainbow lorikeet and have tried to put it with the cockatoo, but it was very aggressive to the lorikeet and attempted to bite. Could you please tell me whether it will be okay to have 1 or 2 sulfur cockatoos who are 3-11 months, male and female to be in the same cage as my cockatoo.
Thanks!

Answer
-- Good question!  Best that you asked first before something awful happened.

No, they cannot share a cage.  First and formost, you would be hard pressed to find a cage big enough.    A properly sized cage would allow each bird to stand on the same center perch, completely outstretch their wings at the same time and fully turn around without touching each other or any part of the cage with a single feather.

Check out the size of a cage for a single macaw http://www.4animalcare.org/birds

YOu could get away with a slightly smaller for a single 'too, but for two or three?  You'd need a cage at least this size

At least!
