Question
I am recently inheriting a Goffin Cockatoo and Umbrella Cockatoo. The one question that stands out for me is.....Is it possible for these two birds to co-habitate? I would love to build a huge enclosure for the both of them to dwell. Any advice would be very much appriecated. Ty!!

Answer
I would NOT put them in the same cage, no matter how large it is. If they have never been housed together, they know that cages are their "territory" and will try to protect their new territory-and one will end up getting hurt. You can build a huge enclosure, but makes sure it has a separating middle so that they can't hurt each other. The separator will most likely need to be solid acrylic because if it's just bars, they will still bite each other through the bars. It is possible to teach them to live together, but it takes a lot of time and is dangerous. It's much easier to just separate the cage in half.
